Education & Workforce
Jaimie Matthews is the programs and policy manager for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USCCF) Education and Workforce program—the nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 program dedicated to strengthening the nation’s educational standards and the quality of its workforce. In this position, Matthews develops
and manages USCCF’s programs for higher education and workforce development. In addition, she is responsible for conducting research on education and workforce reform policies and initiatives as well as building coalitions with other nonprofit organizations, chambers, and businesses.
During her first year of employment at the Chamber, Matthews played a role on the research and development team for the publication Leaders & Laggards: A State-by-State Report Card on Public Postsecondary Education. Her contribution to the research focused mostly on transparency and accountability to prospective students and families.
Before joining the Chamber, Matthews worked for the Division of Student and Academic Support Services as a program coordinator at The George Washington University. She began her career as an admissions counselor for her undergraduate alma mater, Davidson College.
Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, Matthews received her bachelor of arts in sociology from Davidson and her Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development.
